The Mercus Barn is based near the City of Foix, in the Ariège Pyrenees and is situated in a landscape once occupied by the Cro-Magnon civilisation (a particular source of fascination for founder, David Saunders. The Grotte de Niaux is 15 minutes away by car and has some of the finest examples of cave art open to the public from this Upper Paleolithic period).
